Making the most out of your money and embellishments.

August 7th, 2009 by Donna | Comments Off | Filed in Scrapbooking
may-june-09-145Adding embellishments can make the difference in your scrapbook page. The embellishment can be the main item on your page or it can bring attention to the picture on the page.
Embellishments can be stickers, diecuts, tags, ribbon, beads, or anything that accents the page. You may want to put a memento on the page that goes with the event featured on the page. Always look for these items in stores on sale. For example, A roll of ribbon can be used for other pages also so it would benefit you to buy the roll especially if it was on sale.
Anything used on the pages depending on the subject of the page can be reused on other pages so you can never say you have too much of one item. You can save your scraps of ribbon, paper, lace, beads anything used from an earlier craft project or scrapbook page.. Keeping an eye out for sales and deals at the stores is always a smart way to scrapbook. If you scrapbook with friends you can trade out with each other. Sharing embellishments that both of you can use on your pages. The stickers used on this page were some wme and my girlfriend had for some wedding pages we did in some of our own albums and some we bought and were able to use through out the whole album we sold to the lucky couple.  So it always pays off to look ahead sometimes too when buying stickers or any kind of embellishments.
Til next time, Donna

Precious Metal Clay (PMC) made its first appearance in the 1990’s and has become popular in jewellery making. The clay is a combination of binders and tiny particles of precious metal suspended in the clay.

Once heated, the binders burn off, allowing the particles of metal to combine and resulting in a solid metal piece. The most common type of PMC is silver clay, although gold and even bronze clays are available (the gold clay being very expensive).
