August 20th, 2009 by Donna | Comments Off | Filed in Arts and Crafts

torrie-025So these pages are really pretty and kindof plain. I made them with alot less on the page than usual with me I am usually a page filler. LOL! But these pictures turned out so good. She let me take some with the black and white setting on the camera and she even had fun posing for me. I love how the pages came and again. The Cricut was busy on these pages too. The flourishes are so pretty. The cartridge was called Home Accent. Love it and of course her name on the Cricut also. LOVE the Cricut.

4 Christmas Crafts For Kids

June 30th, 2009 by MelanieSmith | Comments Off | Filed in Arts and Crafts

Kids are astoundingly innovative. Hand them a cardboard box and they will make a car out of it, or an ingenious doll house. Hand them a rubber band and they can turn it into a gun. My kid found a big rubber band that was used by the florist and before I knew it, he made it into a gun with the use of that rubber band and lego bricks. It shot out lego bricks across the living room.

Getting children to create Christmas presents for their friends and family members is a definite means to keep them happily busy and with any luck out of trouble. Here are a few ideas.

Printed on transparency

This is one of the pictures we printed on a transparency paper. They turned out so cool. It is a black and white photo, Close up of my granddaughter. I have it sitting part of the way on a white piece of paper so you can see it. I am going to do a page with just this pictures and a few embellishments. I love the way the picture turned out. I will have to try and take a picture of the page when I finish it and post it for you to see. We also made the tags I talked about and I took a picture of them too. So tune in tomorrow to see them. LOL!

September 11th, 2008 by mcarson0016 | Comments Off | Filed in Collecting

Collecting is a fun hobby, and one of the most interesting things to collect are art collectibles. Many different items can be painted with artwork and become an art collectible. Hobby enthusiasts collect such things as saw blades, and wooden eggs which have had artwork painted on. People even collect designer rugs as art. Another art collectible hobby is collecting limited edition plates, thimbles, Christmas ornaments, and figurines produced by such companies as Bradford Exchange. And of course, many people collect fine art paintings.

Hidden Treasures Around Your Home

August 14th, 2008 by vgevge | Comments Off | Filed in Collecting

I live in a small town surrounded by a vast number of farms. Yes, it’s the country; call me a hick if you like, but country living has benefits that city dwellers can’t even imagine. One of the great benefits of the country living is the hundreds or yard sales, garage sales, and flea markets we have in our town, spanning from late April through to late September. Every weekend, on every street, at least one person has cleaned out their attic or garage and is trying to make a little cash on items they have seldom if ever used. The beauty of this is, a lot of people don’t know what they have; they think it is just junk, but to those of us with an eye for the unique, we soon find out it is treasure.
