Having been extremely popular in the fifties, sixties, and seventies by the eighties it began to be replaced by the video game revolution and the new music television revolution. New youngsters did not have time for the same hobbies that their parents did. The old generation came close to fading away but did not disappear entirely. Now there is a new resurgence of the old hobby. New builders and old collectors are both after some of the new models and are snapping them up quickly.
